With the participation of internationally renowned academics from across Europe, the prestigious annual scientific conference of the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute, titled: “8th Athens Conference on European Energy Law and Policy: Bridging Challenges and Unlocking Opportunities for the Energy Transition”, will take place on December 12, 2024. As the title suggests, this established international scientific conference on energy regulation will feature distinguished experts analyzing current topics related to the energy transition.
This year’s conference is co-organized by the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute, the German Institute for Energy and Regulatory Law (Institut für Energie- und Regulierungsrecht-EnReG), the University of Bergen in Norway, a leader in energy policy and energy law, and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London. The event will be held online on Thursday, December 12, 2024, with simultaneous live streaming on energypress.gr, which also serves as the communication sponsor of this international conference.
The scientific leads of the Conference are Professor Antonis Metaxas, lecturer at the Universities of Athens and Berlin and President of the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute; Professor Jochen Mohr from the Faculty of Law at the University of Leipzig and President of EnReG; Professor Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui from the University of Bergen; and Professor Mary Mitsi from the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London.
As in previous years, this conference, which is the only exclusively scientific international energy conference held annually in Greece, features distinguished speakers with extensive experience in both academic research and practical applications. Selected original scientific papers presented at the conference are subsequently published in a curated collective volume.
