Τhe 7th Athens Conference on EU Energy Law and Policy titled “Scientific Challenges on the way to the Energy Transition”, will be held virtually on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
The conference constitutes a joint initiative of the German Institute for Energy and Regulation (Institute für Energie und Regulierungsrecht-EnReg), the Centre for Commercial Law Studies of Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), the Research Group for Natural Resources Law, Environmental Law and Development Law of the University of Bergen (UiB) and HERI. The Conference Agenda includes key issues of EU Law and Policy such as the re-design of the EU Electricity Market, hydrogen & renewable gases policy in the EU, the prospects & risks for off-shore wind development and current trends in energy arbitration.
Scientific Directors of the Conference are Prof. Dr. Antonis Metaxas, Chairman of HERI, Prof. Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui, Associate Professor and Lead of the Research group for Climate, Energy and Environmental Law, UiB and Prof. Jochen Mohr, Chair of Civil Law, Competition Law, Energy Law, Regulatory Law and Labour Law, Universität Leipzig and Managing Director of the Berlin Institute for Energy and Regulation (EnReg).
