Metaxas & Associates Law Firm, in an effort to contribute effectively to the public scientific dialogue on important issues affecting the Greek energy market, took the initiative to establish the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute. This initiative has also the objective to foster research and gather scientific data on important regulatory developments and topics.
Metaxas & Associates Law firm – having as core specialization energy related legal issues- believes strongly that effective and accurate legal advice needs to be founded on sound scientific knowledge. The launching of the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute has as a primary objective to raise and analyze the often complex scientific background of energy regulation problems by carefully evaluating the normative cornerstones of European and International legislation on electricity, natural gas and renewable energy sources using an interdisciplinary approach.
On 11.11.2013 and in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and the energy portal www.energypress.gr, the Hellenic Energy Regulation Institute organized a roundtable session on «Industrial Development and Renewable Energies: An unachievable balance? Greek reality and the German experience», in which a first public presentation of the Institute took place.
